dent of the Ladies of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, announces that

nor luncheon of

of Jewish edu-
cation to sup-
port the endea-

teachers at the Beth Jacob
School for Girls.
The donor, Mrs. Rottenberg
added, supplies the majority of
funds for the maintenance of
the school, the only one in this
area exclusively for the Jewish
education of local girls. The
Ladies also supply funds for the
regular departments of the
Yeshivah.
Rabbi A. Gloukowsky, of the
Yeshivah, will be guest artist,
rendering a selection of songs,
and Rabbi M. J. Wohlgelernter
will be guest speaker. Mrs. Da-
vid J. Cohen will serve as toast-

Talk on Israel by Dr. Ruth Gruber

"Meeting of the Year" at 12:30
p. m., Nov. 17, at Adas Shalom
Synagogue.
• The meeting will mark the
culmination of the group's pres-
ent membership drive and serve
as " a kick-off for the annual
donor event, ,which is scheduled
to take place Jan. 24. Mrs. A.
Scheuer is donor chairman, and
is assisted by Mrs. S. Ravin, co-
chairman.
Guest speaker at the Nov. 17
meeting will be Dr. Ruth Gruber,
author of the best-seller "Israel
Without Tears" and a special
correspondent of the New York
Herald Tribune. Dr. Gruber has
only recently returned from her

sixth trip to Israel in as many
years.
In Israel, Dr. Gruber visited
new immigrant camps and in-
terviewed many of the new
state's newest citizens as they
landed from all over the world.
Her talk will deal in part with
the progress of these newcom-
ers to the Jewish state.
Mrs. Max Stollman, program
chairman, announces that ' spe-
cial entertainment will be pro-
vided by the Adas Shalom Sis-
terhood choral group, who un-
der the direction of Mrs. Joseph
Markel, will render several mu-
sical selections.
Hostesses for the dessert
luncheon meeting will include
Mesdames Al Miller, R. B. New-
man, M. Schubiner, Leo Lesser
and William Silver. Members
