Registration Open for
Center Adult Institute

Registration is now open for
the activities of the Jewish
Community Center Adult Insti-
tute at the four Center build-
ings: Aaron DeRoy Memorial
Building (8904 Woodward), Dex-
ter-Davison Branch (4059 Davi-
son) , D. W. Simons Branch
(Holmur and Tuxedo), and the
Twelfth Street Council Branch
(Twelfth and Blaine).
Most activities will begin the
last week of Oct. or the first
week of Nov. and will be held
at the Aaron DeRoy, Dexter-
Davison; and D. W. Simons build-
ings.
A printed bulletin describing
the program in detail is avail-
able by phoning the Center; TR.
5-8450.
The Adult Institute offers a
special attraction for mothers
on the Thursday afternoon
"Ladies Day Out" at the Dexter-
Davison Branch. This program
provides a nursery for children
from 3 to 6 years of age while
Mothers and other women par-
ticipate in courses on Modern
Dancing, Creative Ceramics, and
"Understanding and Enjoying
Your Child," conducted by Sam-
uel Kellman, Chief Clinical
Psychologist of Harper Hospital.
A cooperative feature of the
program is the plan to have
each group which meets at the
Aaron DeRoy Memorial Building
on Monday, Tuesday, and Wed-
nesday evenings take turns in
sponsoring an A f ter- Sessions
Lounge for the other groups,
providing an opportunity to
dance, hear records, enjoy food
and talk.

Howard Mausner, Miss Selma
Lesser, and Cohen, all of the
JVS staff, will participate in the
midwestern conference of Jew-
ish Vocational Services in St.
Louis this month. Mausner, staff
psychologist, will present a pa-
per on "Qualitative Aspects of
Vocational Testing.0

photographer, who called a busi-
nessman from Holland a "dirty
Jew" when the latter refused to
have his picture taken, has been
fined the equivalent of $35,
which will be paid to the Cen-
tral Welfare Agency of the Jews
