Israel's border and UN crisis
became even more aggravated
this week with repeated reports
that Premier David Ben-Gurion
is planning to resign.
The Mapai organ Davar, re-
proaching editors of other news-
papers editorially for reporting
the rumors sensationally, ap-
pealed to Israelis to avoid pub-
lic discussions until the situa-
tion is clarified.
Sonie quarters in Israel al-
ready are discussing the ques-
tion of a successor.
Construction of a home for
Premier David Ben-Gurion and
his family within the settlement
of Sdeh Boker in the Negev has
begun.
The four-room house will be
cons t r u c t e d of, prefabricated
wood panels produced in Swe-1
den., His famous library will be
housed in a nearby archaeologi-
cal laboratory. The Sdeh Boker
kibbutz officially accepted the
Premier as a member so that he
could live in the settlement.

Women's Auxiliary of Maimon-
ides Medical Society will meet
Tuesday, at Bel-Aire Terrace,
when Mrs. Charles Gitlin, gen-
eral fund-raising coordinator,
will announce plans for the an-
nual fund-raising luncheon. Mrs.
David Kliger will deliver the in-
vocation at this meeting.
The luncheon, funds from
which provide artificial limbs for
Israeli war veterans and provide
scholarships to medical schools
in Detroit and Israel, will high-
light a original fashion show,
presented by Furs by Robert.
Mrs. Louis Kazdan, president,
announces the following lunch.:-

the Jewish Folk Schools of the
United States and Canada, Pink-
hos Gingold.

gold's life and personality and

The engagement of Harriet
Greenberger, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Greenberger, of
Santa Rosa Dr., to William Alan
Berlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Edgar Berlin, also of Santa Rosa
Dr. was announced recently. A
December wedding is planned.

Cong. Bnai Moshe Bar Mitz •
vah Club recently resumed its
meetings for the fall season. The
club is open to all Bar Mitzvah
boys, ,over the age of 13, regard-
less of whether their parents
are affiliated with the syna-
gogue.
Meetings are held each Sun-
day morning, beginning with
prayers at 9:30 a.m., and follow-
ed by a breakfast and a :pro-
gram. Maxwell M. Lowe is adult
chairman, and is assisted by
Mrs. Manuel Barnett of the Sis-
terhood.

MUNICH, (JTA) — A group
of 26 tubercular Jewish DPs to-
gether with 36 dependents left
for permanent settlement in
Sweden. Most of them are resi-
dents of Foehrenwald, the only
Jewish DP camp still in ex-
istence in Germany.
This is the second transport
of "hard core" displaced Jews to
Sweden made possible by spe-
c i a 1 agreement between the
Swedish government a n d the
Joint Distribution Committee.
