Following a wedding trip to

land, the couple will ,reside in

Israel Agency Worker
To Speak in Detroit

Dr. May Here Merom (Meram-
insky), who has been touring
the United States and Canada
for several months as a special
representative of Histadrut, will
visit Detroit on Wednesday
under auspices of the local His-
tadrut Campaign.
Dr. Merom, who emigrated to
Palestine in 1929, earned her
degrees at the University of
Manitoba and a Ph.D at Colum-
bia University. Classed as one
of the leading
clinical psychol-
ogists in Israel
today, she has ,
played an im-
portant role in
the integrationt
of n e w immi,
grants in Israel
She has devoted
her skills to the
improvement of
vocational guid-
ance methods
o r , immigrant
girls, and h a s Dr. Merom
served as personnel and place-
ment officer for Chen, the Wom-
en's Arm y Unit. She played
a major role in aiding the Is-
raeli Air Force in its treatment
of fliers suffering from combat
fatigue during the War of In-
dependence.
She now is employed by the
Jewish Agency, caring for •"hard
core" immigrant cases, and is a
lecturer at the Hebrew Univer-
sity.
A reception in her honor has
been arranged for 8:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Klein, 4308 Les- I

Begin Construction on
Haifa Biological Institute

HAIFA, (-HP) — Construction
was begun this week on a Bio-
logical Institute here, which will
include lecture halls and labor-
atories.
It is designed to become a fo-
cal point for post-graduate work
in botany and biology, as well
as a training center for further
studies for teachers of various
