Women's Share in Israel's Creation Described by Miss Zabari of Knesset; Fashion Show Nets $150,000 for Bonds Miss Rachel Zabari, one of the 12 women members of the Is- rael Knesset, in an address to leaders in the Women's Division of the Israel Bond Organization, Tuesday, at Masonic Temple, described woman's role in the building of the Jewish state. Although outnumbered by men in the Knesset, Miss Zabari commented, and although the women do the least amount of speech-making, they are always the pioneers in constructive ef- forts. Women work in the fields, assist in road-building, never tire of even the hardest tasks. In Tel Aviv, she said, there are homes that were built en- tirely by women. As a result of women's efforts in the field of infant welfare, infant mortality in Israel has been reduced 29 per thousand. Miss Dorothy Sarnoff, star of "The King and I," included "The Hora" among the songs she sang at the bruncheon which preced- ed the fashion show. Mrs. Theo- dore Bargman, chairman of the Women's Division of the bond organization, presided. It was reported that $150,000 worth of Israel bonds were pur- chased or sold by those attend- ing the fashion show. Citations, expressing apprecia- tion for their assistance in the bond drive, were given at the fashion show to the representa- tives of Detroit's newspapers. People Make News Rabbi Herbert C.
