Mrs. Bargman Honored
At Board Conference
Of Bond Leaders

Mrs. Theodore Bargman, of
19551 Burlington Drive, chair-
man of the Detroit Women's Di-
vision for Israel bonds, was one
of four women in the United
States to receive a BIG (Bonds
of the Israel Government)
Wheel Award during the Na-
tional Economic Conference for
Israel in Washington, D. C., last
week. The award was issued by
the national Israel bond organ-
ization "for her dynamic and •
devoted effort for the Israel
Bond drive."
Mrs. Bargman was one of 10
delegates from the Detroit com-
munity to attend the three-day
parley, Sept. 26-28, .sponsored by
State of Israel Bonds. Joining
her were Mr. Bargman, Mr. and
Mrs. Phillip Stollman, Mr. and
Mrs. Peter S. Goldstein, Samuel
S. Simmer, Miss Evelyn Axelrod
Mrs. Sam L. Goodman and Ben
Desenberg.
An active leader in the bond
drive since its inception in 1951,
Mrs. Bargman served as chair-
man of the Round Table Dis-
cussion on "Function of t h e
Women's Division," at the na-
tional conference. With a record
of 18 years service to the De-
troit community, she is now
president of the Jewish Social
Service Bureau and a board del-
egate to the General Assembly
of Family Service Association
of America. •A former persident
of the Detroit Chapter of Had-
assah, she is treasurer of the
Central States Region of Hadas-
sah.

man of the Women's Division,
State of Israel Bonds, was in-
troduced to the 800 men and
women delegates of the confer-
ence, Mrs. Lowenthal succeeds
Mrs. Moses P. Epstein of New
York,. now honorary chairman
of the Women's Division.
