Moral for Advertisers
A hon met a tiger
As they drank beside a pool.
Said the tiger, "Tell me why
You're roaring like a fool."
"That's not foolish," said the
lion,
With a twinkle in his eyes.
"They call me king of all the
beasts
Because I advertiSe."
A rabbit heard them talking.
And ran home like a streak,
He thought; he'd try the lion's
plan, .
But his roar was -just a
squeak.
A fox came to investigate-
Had luncheon in the woods.
Moral: When you advertise, my
friends,
_
Be sure you've got the goods.

Man Versus Machine
Democracy's Problems
Analyzed by Gelber
Seeking consolation and guid- •
ance "froin history (from which). ;
may be derived a sense of real,
ism which "will preVent us from
hoping too 'much or despairing
too soon," Lionel Gelber . has
written a challenging book, "The
American Anarchy" (H e n r y
Schuman, publisher, .20 E. 70th
St., N.Y. 21).
Democracy, Mr. Gelber indi-
cates, has fallen short of its
promises.. But he has hope: "lib-
erty regenerates itself," he as-
serts. Also, he states:- "Time' will
be on the side of democracy only
as long as it is organized for,
rather than against, self renew-
al."
We are admonished that;."malt
versus the machine remain a
major issue of the twentieth
century, the question being how
to: control it so that it can be
exploited in common to the
common advantage."
- The principles of Judaism and
Christianity An relation to de-
mocracy are interestingly inter-
woven in this well .written analy-
sis _of democracy's -problems.
