whose new record for achieve-
ment in financial circles is
marked by $1,000,00.0 in new ac-
counts in three months.
On May 26,' Guardian Savings
opened for business. Phillmore
A. Leeman, secretary, states:
"The reception given us evi-
denced the need for a savings
institution with a current rate
of 2%. We are now on the road
to our second million, and ac-
counts may be opened in person
or by mail. Our accounts are
insured to $10,000. Guardian
Savings is a member of Federal
Home Loan Bank System and
Federal Savings and Loan In-
surance Corporation, U. S. Sav-
ing and Loan League and Mich-
igan Savings and Loan League."

After Oct. 1, purchasers of real
estate in Wayne, Oakland and
Macomb Counties will not have
to pay extra premiums to have
their owner's title insurance
policies include coverage of spe-
cial assessments.
The decision to eliminate the
premium was reached at a meet-
ing of officials of Abstract Title
Guaranty Co., Burton Abstract
and Title Co. and Lawlers Title
Insurance Corp.
Previously, an extra 25 percent
premium was charged to cover
special assessments, such as pav-
ing, drainage and sewers, in a
title. Now this is eliminated,
