At one of them, he en- tered wearily, glanced sourly at the over-familiar cast of char- acters, and sank into the nearest chair. The hostess asked coyly, "A spot of tea, Rabbi?" "No tea," he growled. "Coffee, Rabbi?" "No coffee." An understanding woman, she whispered in his ear, "Scotch and water, Rabbi?" Said the rabbi, brightening, "No water." - WILLIAM H.
