Cancer Fighters Hear
Reports of Convention

The board of directors of the
City of Hope Cancer Fighters
opened the season with a lunch-
eon meeting held at the home
of Mrs. Sidney Knoll when var-
ious plans were formulated for
the coming year.
Helen Rosenberg, president,.
gave a report of activities of the
national convention held re-
cently in Los Angeles, and Fran-
ces Oschin, executive vice presi-
dent, gave a detailed account of
the City of Hope.
It was also reported that Mrs.
Elsinore Machris, who last year
contributed $80,000 for the pur-
chase of the cobalt bomb, con-
tributed $1,000,000 at the con-
vention for building a cardiac
surgery division.
The group's first regular meet-
ing will be held Sept. 21, at Hol-
iday Manor. Future meetings
will be held on the fourth Men-
day of the month.
