Before an altar setting of
white chrysanthemums and gla-
dioli, Ilene Marcia Purdy ex-
changed marriage vows with
Stanley Sheldon Schwartz on
Aug. 16. Rabbi Morris Adler of-
ficiated.
Only the immediate families
of the couple attended the wed-
ding which was solemnized at
the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur S. Purdy,
of Chicago Blvd. The bride-
groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Schwartz, of New
York City. A reception followed
the afternoon ceremony.
For her wedding, the bride
chose a gown of ivory silk or-
gandy over tulle and taffeta,
fashioned with a fitted • bodice
and long pointed sleeves. Ap-
pliqued Swiss organdy daisies
edged the tunic which fell in
tiers over a bouffant skirt styled
with a short sweep at the back.
An organdy bonnet matching
the petal daisies on the tunic
held her three-tiered veil of silk
illusion. She carried a white
prayer book centered with a
white orchid and stephanotis.
Mrs. Edward Frazer Purdy,
sister-in-law of the bride, was
the matron of honor, and Leon-
ard Schwartz, brother of the
bridegroom, was best man. Ed-
ward Frazer Purdy, the bride's
brother, served as usher.
