In a recent ceremony at Adas Shalom Synagogue, Lois Libby Grunt, daughter of Mr. and Mr& Nathan Grunt, of Birwood Ave. became the bride of Lawrence David Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Newman, of Wooding- ham Drive, Dr. Rabbi Jacob E. Segal and Cantor Nicholas Fen- akel officiated. The bride chose a gown cf pure bridal white cattoir silk- satin, styled with a long train back. The waist was of imported chantilly lace and fashion'd with long sleeves and with a scallop of the flowerettes of the lace forming a • sholder-high edging, finished with an inset of illusion at the neckline. The lace of the bodice dropped into side panels and fell to the edge of billowing skirt of nylon tulle over the silk satin. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught to her head by white seed pearls. She carried white baby mums and lily of the val- ley centered with two white or- chids on a Bible. The bridegroom's sister, Lois Newman, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Abraham H. OSE World Executive Plans U.S. Discussions send a delegation to the United States to confer with American Jewish leaders on matters af- fecting OSE policy was adopted by the executive committee of the World Union OSE at its two- day meeting here. The executive also decided that the OSE should become an associate member of the World Jewish Congress. The session voted thanks to the South African Jewish Appeal for its "continuous and uninter- rupted support" to the OSE, and to the Joint Distribution Com- mittee "for its support in the past and for its present finan- cial aid" in North Africa and Europe. At the same time the executive "noted with regret" that the JDC is giving no fi- nancial support to the OSE work in Israel. It was reported that OSE maintains 190 institutions con- ducting medical and social wel- fare activities for Jews in 29 countries. More than 1,000 per- sons are employed, including 214 doctors and 302 nurses. About 15,000 children and 15,000 adults have been treated in. OSE insti- tutions during the last year on a budget of $1,500,000. Israel Chief Rabbi Calls For Increased UJA Aid Chief Rabbi Isaac Halevi Her- zog of Israel called upon Jewish congregations in the United States to rededicate, themselves to greater support of the United Jewish Appeal during 5714. In a cabled message to UJA general chairman Edward M. M. Warburg, the Chief Rabbi, de- clared that "thousands of Jew- ish children in the ghettos of North Africa and Europe- and in the new setlements of Israel desperately need not only medi- cal aid and community child care centers, but institutions which can foster their spiritual and cultural life as well." Argentine Ship Visits Israel HAIFA, (JTA)—The Argentine naval vessel "Bahia Testis," the first Argentine Navy ship to vis- it Israel, dropped anchor in the port of Haifa, and was greeted by representatives of the Israel Foreign Ministry and the Argen- tine legation.
