The new Hadassah leader in-
herited her interest in Zionism
at an early age from her father,
who was deeply interested in the
movement. Mrs. Isenberg h a s
held offices as vice-president,
honor roll chairman, fund-rais-
ing vice-president, treasurer, or-
ganizer of the paid-up luncheon
and chairman of the new medi-
cal center in Jerusalem.
Mrs. Isenberg's father attend-
ed the first world Zionist forum
at Basle, Switzerland about 55
years ago where he met with

started the Sophie Tucker Foun-
dation. Sophie has received a
charter from Albany, N. Y., thus
officially authorizing a corpora-
tion to "foster and encourage
the development of liberal arts
and sciences, to make voluntary
grants to needy and worthy per-
sons without discrimination as
to the race, color or creed in or-
der to enable them either to
work or develop skills in such
arts and sciences."
Sophie has been active in
many charities. In virtually
every one of her engagements
she sells autographed copies of
her books and albums as soon
as she takes her final bow. Buy-

SONIA Clarifies Position
Of Agents in Detroit

Joseph Borenstein, of Boren-
stein Book and. Music Store,
12066 Dexter, has received cor-
respondence from the New York
office of Soya Israel Stores, stat-
ing that he and Rabbi Kahana
are the only authorized agents
for Soya scrip certificates and
checks in Detroit.
All others selling Soya Scrip
in the area have not received
authorization from the New
York office. Buying the Scrip
from individuals other than
these dealers will not be recog-
nized by Soya. Certificates must
be signed by Borenstein or Rab-
bi Kahana in order to be valid.
The statement from Soya was
made following an outbreak of
illegal sales by irresponsible in-
dividuals. There are several
kinds of Scrip certificates on the
market. The above applies only
to Soya Scrip.
