Welcome Tourists

T

Michigan's summer resorts are
preparing to greet the many
vacationers who are leaving
their homes for the summer to
beat the heat.
The Biltmore resort in South
Haven this year . features the
recently completed "Tropical
Room." Designed for all types
of entertainment, it is one of
the main attractions of the
hotel's night life, with a top
orchestra playing for dancing.
Movies will also be shown in the
room. Surrounded by spacious,
beautifully landscaped grounds,
the' hotel lies in a square block
of lawns, trees and shrubbery.
A new swimming pool has been
installed at South Haven's Sam-
son's Resort. Another innova-
tion of the hotel is a spray wad-
ing pool for children, with a-
nearby sand box. Harry Lewis,
show business personality, has
been engaged as the hotel's so-
cial director. All rooms at Sam-
son's have been completely dec-
orated for the 1953 season.
A new recreation room, over-
looking Lake Michigan, has been
opened to guests of the Mendel-
son's Athletic Resort in South
Haven. It will serve for enter-
tainment and dancing. Other
features include cocktail parties,
beach parties, hay rides; tennis
court, and ping pong tables. A
special children's playground is
provided with expertly-trained
children's counsellors supervis-
ing the children of guests.
