spoke her marital vows to Peter
BaSkind Copeland. Rabbi Morris
Adler performed the ceremony,
which was solemnized on June
17.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Abe A. Schmier, of
Sherbonne Rd. The bridegroom's
parents are the Abraham J.
Copelands, of Parkside Ave.
For her wedding the bride
chose a gown of white mousse-
line de sole over white taffeta.
The bodice, with illusion neck-
line, was detailed with hand-
corded alencon lace appliques.
The bouffant skirt, which fell
into a formal train, was ap-
pliqued with matching lace.
The new Mrs. Copeland wore
her mother's veil of heirloom
lace, which was caught to her
head by a Juliet cap of the lace
and, studded with seed pearls.
She carried a cascade of sleur
d'amour centered with a white
orchid and cascading ivy.
The bride's sisters, Carol and
Marilyn, and her husband's sis-
ter, Mrs. Sidney Rosenberg, were
her attendants.
Maurice Wolin, of Chicago,
was best man, and Sidney
Rosenberg, the bridegroom's
brother-in-law, was head usher.
Seating the guests were Avern
Cohn, Richard Kahn, Edward
Schreiber, Allan - Schmier and
Brody Simons, the latter from
Chicago.
FolloWing a reception, the
couple left for a wedding trip
to Bermuda. They will make
their home in Detroit.

The bride wore a long wn:te
satin wedding gown, with a lace
trimmed neckline, and an il-
lusioned veil and crown. She
carried a purple orchid on a
white Bible.
Her sister, Mrs. Betty Lazar
was matron-of-honor, and Sam
Silver was best man. Other at-
tendants included Eleanor Marks,
Eleanor Betman and Phyllis La-
Kritz, bridesmaids; Jack Blu -
menthal, Irving Lazar and Sid-
ney Blumenthal. Sherey Lazar,
niece of the bride, was flower
girl.
The ceremony . culminated in
a dinner for 150 guests, followed
by a reception.
The couple left on a honey-
moon to Niagara Falls and New
York. Upon their return they
will reside on Rochester Ave.

At Federation Women's
Board Meeting June 24

The eighth program year of
the Women's Division of Jewish
Welfare Federation will begin
with the board of directors
meeting to be held at 10 a.m.,
Wednesday, in the Davison Jew-
ish Center.
This will mark the first board
of directors meeting presided
over by Mrs. Harry L. Jones, re-
cently elected president of the
Women's Division. •
Plans for the Fall will be dis-
cussed and a movie, "Journey to
Tomorrow," will be shown. The
color film features Barry Sulli-
van and the top leadership of
the United Jewish Appeal Na-
tional Women's Division. The
