Miss Helen Manis, of Clements Ave., has left for Los Angeles,
Calif., where she will spend the summer months.
The 23rd annual Stars of Tomorrow revue, presented by stu-
dents of Roth-Berdun Theatrical School, will be held at 8 p.m.,
Tuesday and Wednesday in the Art Institute. Featured in the
show will be Toby and Marlene Myers, their brother, Jacque and
his dance partner, Anny Maggy, Linda and Annette Brodsky,
Sandra Brightman, Pauline Pollish, Arvid Friedlund, a teacher at
the school and his daughter, Sandra, Phyllis Pulberg, Jack Costello,
Arlene Diskin, Sandra and Gaye Blum, Marvin Kaplan, Stewart
Cohen and Joan Gantz.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham L. Goose, formerly of Detroit now re-
siding in California, are celebrating their 35th wedding anniver-
sary while visiting here with their family and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Levine of Birmingham, England, were guests
in Detroit this week.
Dr. and Mrs. H. Portnoy, of this city, have returned from New
York where Dr. Portnoy attended the convention of the American
Medical Association: While in New York, they visited their family
and 'friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brawer have returned from a New York
City vacation.
Miss Eleanor Lipkin, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ezra Lipkin of
17599 Greenlawn, is home for a several weeks' visit after being on
the Fox Hollow School faculty at Lenox, Mass. After her visit here
she will spend the summer working with the noted pianist, Rudolf
Serkin, at Marlboro, Vt.

luncheon given in her honor by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob

Regulars on hand for the Elm-
wood show are Bernie Miller,
who emcees the revue and vo-
calizes on ballads to the music
of Jack Madden's Ambassadors.
In the dance department, it's
eight lovely ladies,. the Miriam
Sage Dancers. Music for danc-
ing is by the Madden group.
Jesse Moss, national com-
mander of the Jewish War Vet-
erans, will participate in a pan-
el discussion on WWJ-TV at
11:15 p. m. today. He will ap-
pear with Thomas Cuite, na-
tional commander of the Cath-
olic War Veterans, and Robert
Mattheson, past department
commander of the American
Legion, on the Bill Morey show.
Arrangements for the annual
convention of the Department of
Michigan Jewish War Veterans
are being handled by Norman
Berkley, chairman. Berkley will
preside at the convention dinner
in honor of the outgoing com-
mander, Bernard Hoffman, and
the president of the Auxiliary,
Mrs. Philip Bernstein. A suc-
cessor to Hoffman will be se-
lected at the convention and
Mrs. Bernstein's successor will
be chosen at the convention of
the Auxuliary to be held simul-
taneously.
A feature of the Sunday after-
noon session of the convention
will be the presentation of
awards and citations to mem-
bers and non-members of JWV
who have served the veterans'
program in a distinguished man-
ner during the year. A testi-
monial on behalf of the Com-
mon Council of the City of De-
troit will be presented at the
convention dinner by Council
President Louis C. Miriani.
