Anti-Semitic Arguments
Used to Fight FEP Laws

Man.,,, (JTA)—A
few individuals .`of one and the
same group of a certain ideolog-
ical persuasion" are carrying on
a campaign against fair employ-
ment practices legislation
throughout Canada by flooding
the newspapers with letters de-
nouncing this legislation as
Communist or anti - Christisn,
the Israelite Press of Winnipeg
charged here in an editorial.
The paper said that many of
the letters use anti-Semitic ar-
gumenfs and seek to link the
Jews with Communism.
"The group carrying on the
fight against PEP undoubtedly
has many more significant aims
—such a group can flourish only
in an atmosphere of race con-
flicts," the editorial warned. "Its
influence is very small at the
present but it merits watching;
the group can become much
more dangerous in the event - of
economic difficulties in this
country."

`Honor Thy Father'

ON HIS DAY . . SUNDAY, JUNE 21

- By Planting a Tree of Life
in Israel in His Name

There's no more dignified form of
honoring thy Father than to plant
a tree in his name . . . or offer a
blessing to his memory.

Tree certificates also provide
an inner satisfaction to the
recipient of the gift, add
dignity to the _giver, and
helps afforestation of the
land, which is so vitally im-
portant to the redemption of
Israel's soil.
