In a message to the rally held
here at Parkside Hall, Tuesday,
to urge clemency for Ethel and
Julius Rosenberg, Rabbi Abra-
ham Cronbach of Cincinnati,
expressing his regret at his in-
ability to attend, wrote:
"The anomalous situation has
developed in which guilt would
be to the Rosenbergs' advantage
and innocence their undoing. If
guilty they would need only to
confess. For confession they
have been promised clemency.
If innocent, they would not
qualify for clemency, for they
would have nothing to disclose."
Tuesday's rally was a prelude
to the National Clemency Mo-
bilization scheduled to meet in
Washington Sunday. The 13.2-
senbergs will die in the electric
chair Thursday unless these
pleas are heeded.
The Uruguayan Chamber of
Deputies, with only one dis-
senting voice, passed a resolu-
