given a suspended sentence to

The Juggler" is a Jew. The
story of what Nazi Germany did
to him is the story of a million
Jews. But The Juggler" is
different—he got another chance!

Filmed in the actual locales.
the streets of Tel-Aviv, the
sands of the desert, the
waterfront of Haifa. . "The
Juggler" is• a story of our times,
played by a star who gives the
performance for which he
will always be remembered.

It is the drama of a man who, in
the birth of a new nation, finds
the re-birth of his own soul!

Produced by STANLEY KRAMER,
maker of "High Noon," and starring
the man he brought to the screen in "Champion"

which he referred as "a thriv-
ing democracy."

FAVORITE STORIES . . . by
Leonard Schultz of Willis Steel
Corp . . who tells about the
youngster who had an unfortu-
nate habit of swearing--usually
at the very worst time . . . His
parents, friends of Leonard, tried
curing him, without success, but
the father had one ace left in
the hole . . . He knew that his
son had always wanted to own
a rabbit, and he offered one in
exchange for a solemn promise
there would be no more swear-
ing .. . The bargain was made,
and the boy got his rabbit . . .
For two weeks, he stuck man-
fully to his bargain . . . Then
came disaster .. . A couple call-
ed one Sunday afternoon, and
the lady said, "I hear you have
a rabbit, Allan. Wouldn't you
like to show it to us?" . . . The
boy was delighted and rushed
out to the garden to collect his
pet . . . Just as he brought it
into the living room, the rabbit
proceeded to give birth to an
enormous litter . . . The boy
watched in consternation for a
moment, dropped the mother
rabbit to the ground, and cried,
"Holy smoke, the damn thing is
falling apart!"

ONE OF THE GOLFERS at
Tam O'Shanter, annoyed at the
loss of his ball, reports Lou
Schwartz, started to scold his
caddie for not having been More
careful in watching its flight .
Replying thoughtlessly, attempt-
ing to excuse himself, the cad-
die said, "Well, sir, it don't us-
ually go anywhere, so it sort of
took me unprepared like."

HIS GRANDCHILDREN call
him Uncle Jake . . . and every-
one else knows him as just plain
. though it is not his
Jake
. 61-year-old Edgar
name
Sullivan, manager of Studio and
Palmer Theaters, well-known
personage at the Filth Exchange
Bldg.,- came to this country in
1912 and still can't explain how
he got the name of Jake .. . It
has stuck to him . . . and in
the 1953 Telephone Directory his
listing is Jake Sullivan.
* * *
DISA 'N DATA . . . Helen
Rosenberg was re-elected presi-
dent of City of Hope Cancer
Fighters . . Mark Fisher, a
couple of years back a popular
musician and magician in town,
is head of the Detroit office of
the Dearborn Steel Corp. in the
Fox Bldg. .. . Did you know it
was a Federal offense to even
mention "Delicatessen Style" on
a product not processed in a
delicatessen . . . This is even
stricter than the State law
which bans the use of the words
Kosher or Kosher Style unless
absolutely so . . From Gros-
singer's comes the one about a
guest confiding to his compan-
ion, "My wife had a funny
dream last night. She dreamed
she had married a multi-mil-
lionaire" • • . . "You're lucky,"
sighed the companion, "my wife
dreams that in the daytime." . .
Julius Stein recalls that when
Thomas Edison's private desk
was opened 15 years after his
death, a card bearing the fol-
lowing admonition was found
among his papers: "When down
in the mouth, remember Jonah.
He came out all right!"

CARD OF THANKS

The family of the late Sharon
Anita Kahn wishes to thank its
relatives and friends, and once
again Rabbi Moses Lehrman, for
the many kindnesses extended
during its recent bereavement.
