an office in the Cadillac Tower
for the practice of patent, trade-
mark and copyright law. Pre-
viously employed as a patent ex-
aminer in the U.S. Patent Office
and as patent attorney for
Kelsey-Hayes Co., Cantor holds
degrees from Cornell and George
Washington University, the lat-
ter university awarding him the
Ellsworth Prize. Cantor is pre-
sently a captain of the junior
division campaign team in the
Allied Jewish, Campaign.

Pioneer Women Vie
hi Membership Contest

June 15 will mark the close of
the current membership cam-
paign of the Detroit Council of
Pioneer Women, it was announ-
ced this week by Mrs. Michael
Michlin, regional chairman.
Various social and educational
functions have been planned
during the membership drive
period by all local chapters to
acquaint Detroit women with
the purposes and activities of
Pioneer Women and its sister
organization in Israel, Moatzot
Hapoalot.
A Council announcement
states that the membership
chairman through whose efforts
the most new women are enroll-
ed will be eligible for a trip to
Washington, D.C.
Leading contenders for the
award are Mesdames Louis La
Med, Channa Czenesh Chapter,
Harry Kanter, Kinneret Chap-
ter; and Victor Linden, Sharona
Chapter.
The Council's installation
luncheon will be held May 26, at
Masonic Temple, at which time
national awards for year-round
membership efforts will be pre-
sented.

Detroit Town Hall has selected
18 outstanding programs for its
fall series, which will mark
its 25th consecutive season here.
The series will open Oct. 14 in
Fisher Theater with the Tyrol-
iers, a group of dancers, sing-
ers and instrumentalists from
the Tyrolean Alps.
Columbus Boychoir and a con-
cert by 15-year-old p i a n i s t,
Grant Johanneson, will be ad-
ditional entertainment features.
The speakers include 15 inter-
nationally-k n o w n authorities,
who will discuss world affairs,
a r t s, travel, adventure and
crime. They include:
Dwight Cooke, Doris Fleeson,
Dr. You Chan Yang, Carlos Fal-
lon, Vicomtesse Antoinette de

World Jewish Congress
To Meet in Switzerland

NEW Y O R K, (JTA) — The
World Jewish Congress will hold
its third world-wide plenary ses-
sion in Geneva in August, with
representatives from Jewish
communities in more than 60
countries participating, it was
announced by Dr. Nahum Gold-
mann, acting president of the
organization. The session will
open on Aug. 4 and will last a
full week.
