A recent open house celebra-
tion honored Mr. and Mrs. Her-
man Schnitzer, of W. Philadel-
phia Ave., on their fiftieth wed-
ding anniversary. The Schnitzers
are the parents of four daugh-
ters, Mrs. Harry Hoffman, at
whose home the golden celebra-
tion took place, Mrs. William
Weingarten, _ of San Francisco,
Calif., Mrs. C. Nichols, of Mus-
kegon, Mich., and Mrs. Edward
Hasty; and two sons, Louis and
Milton Schnitzer.

Circle Groups Plan
Three May Activities

Two activities are planned this
week for members of the local
Workmen's Circle. A third event,
sponsored by the Junior Wom-
en's Division of the Jewish La-
bor. Committee, will be held on
May 19.
This Saturday, the public af-
fairs group will stage its first
outdoor social of the season, a
wienie roast at 9 p.m., at Stoepel
Park, Evergreen and W. Outer
Dr. Sara Caplan, chairman, an-
nounces that funds will go to
the Michigan Committee on
Civil Rights.
Probate Court Judge George
Edwards will lead discussion •.at
the fifth lecture in the Circle
family group series, "The Fine
Art of Parenthood." The pro-
gram will be held at 9 p.m.,
Wednesday, at the Circle. Judge
Edwards will talk on "Never
Knew an Adult He Could Trust
—the Pattern of Delinquency."
Judge Edwards, who was ap-
pointed to Probate Court in
1951, was re-elected last Novem-
ber. He is a former president
of the Detroit Common Council.
Following his talk, the film,
"Angry Boy," will be shown.
The Junior Division activity
will be its second annual fash-
ion show, featuring models from
Patricia Stevens Finishing
School, who will model Jacque-
line Shop gowns. For tickets to
the program, which will be held
at Young Israel Center, call Mrs.

Dr. I. Jerome Hauser was
elected president of the Detroit
Graduate Club, Phi Delta Epsi-
lon, at its annual election meet-
ing. Serving with him will be
Drs. Phillip Peven, president-
elect; Felix Rosewach, secretary;
Ben Parker, treasurer; and Ben
Stamell, historian.
The national medical frater-
nity is the largest non-sectarian
medical fraternity in North
America. The local club has a
membership of over 200 physi-
cians.
