Fannie Gluck Chapter
Plans Cabaret Night

Phi Sigma Sigma sorority of Wayne University recently hon
ored its new pledge, Heather Biederman, at a luncheon.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Srere have left for a tour of Israel
They also plan to visit in Italy and France.
Mr. Jacob W. Kleinsmith, of 19022 Wildemere, will celebrate
his 80th birthday on April 28, at a dinner given for his relatives
and friends at the Belcrest Hotel. Mr. Kleinsmith, the father of
Mrs. Oscar Silverman and Bernard Kleinsmith, of Huntington
Woods, has three grandchildren. Born in Toledo, Mr. Kleinsmith
came here with his father, William, a pioneer shoichet in Detroit,
when he was only two. Still active in the millinery business, Mr.
Kleinsmith previously- was a professional song writer.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Feldman will celebrate their golden wed-
ding anniversary at a buffet dinner Saturday, given by their
children at their home on 22010 Ridgedale, Oak Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter K. Barnes, of Knox Pl., New York City,
have returned home after a. visit with Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Shaf-
kind, of Roselawn Ave.
A special service and a, kiddush will honor Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Sachs, of 17138 Monica, on their 50th wedding anniversary, which
occurs on Tuesday. The service will be held this Saturday morn-
ing by Cong. Gemiluth Chassodim, .at 4000 Tuxedo. A reception
will be held from 3 to 6 p.m.,• Sunday, at the home of the Sachs'
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Friedmann, of 18602
Fairfield. Mr. and Mrs. Sachs also have a son, Mr. H. Sachs, and

Final Temple Israel Concert
Sunday Features Three Artists

The final concert of the Tem-
ple Israel Artists Series will be
presented Sunday, 8:30 p.m., with
a combination of eminent musi-
cians—Joseph Gingold, violinist,
and Ernst Victor Wolff and Karl
Haas, pianists.
Gingold is concertmaster of
the Cleveland Orchestra, a po-
sition he formerly held with the
Detroit Symphony. He played
with the NBC Orchestra until
appointed concertmaster of the
Detroit Symphony in 1944 to
take the place of Ilya Schkol-
nick.
Wolff, head of the piano de-
partment at Michigan State Col-
lege, served for a semester at
Harvard and traveled extensive-
ly in the United States. He later
took his Ph.D. at the University
of Berlin and began his career as
a concert artist.
Karl Haas, Temple organist
and musical director, received
his musical training at the Con-
servatory of Mannheim and the
University of Heidelberg. He is
noted for his part in the field
of chamber music, appearing in
