With the official closing of their drive behind them, officers and executive staff of the His- tadrut Campaign are busily en- gaged in laying plans for the collection of outstanding monies. Morris Lieberman, campaign chairman, and Harry Schumer, executive board chairman, an- nounced a concerted effort to collect pledges for immediate transmission to Israel. The local campaign has pledged itself to the construc- tion of the surgical pavilion of the Eliezer Kaplan Memorial Hospital in Israel. This hospital in R.ehovot will provide medical care to inhabitants of the Negev. Histadrut officials state that because of the effectiveness of a "back to the land" campaign recently instituted by Histadrut in Israel, the rapid completion of the hospital becomes increas- ingly necessary. Many of the 1300 families who have already left the crowded urban areas during the last several months have elected to settle in the Negev region. All campaign workers will be contacted at . once and provided with lists of outstanding pledges. Lour Kasle, A. Hurand Head Hint UJA.
