Circle Lecture Audience

Service Group 'series on "The
Fine Art of Parenthood" at 8:30
p.m., Wednesday, at Workmen's
Circle Educational Center, 11529
Linwood. .
The discussion will be preced-
ed by the showing of two films,
"Understanding Children's Play"
and "Fears of Children."
The series is free to members
of the Workmen's Circle. The
public is invited.


. Mr. and Mrs. David W. Arfa and son, Jack, • have returned
home from a winter vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs.- W. Munk and daughters, Tonya and Deborah, of New
York City, are the house guests of Rev. and Mrs. H. S. Baum, of
Elmhurst Ave. Mrs. Munk is the sister of Rev. Baum.
Mrs. Sadie Bienenfeld Haut has left for El Paso, Tex., where
she. will visit her son, Harold, who is stationed there with the U. S.
armed forces.
Mrs. Bernard Shiller, of Holcomb Ave., has returned home
following a three-week visit with her children, Dr. and Mrs.
Bernard Adinoff, of Waynesville, N. C. While there, her second
grandson, Bryon Harlen, was born.
. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kass, of 18709 Steel, recently celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary at a dinner party given by their
children, Helen Kass, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kass, Dr. and Mrs.
Arnold Kass and Daisy Kass. Over 70 relatives attended the din-
ner, held in the home of the Herman Kasses, 18613 Wildemere.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kass have six children. They have lived in
Detroit for 48 years.
Miss Bernice Pliskow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pliskow,
of 17160 Lindsay, recently entertained a few friends at her new
home. The Pliskows formerly lived on Gladstone Ave.
David Sterns, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Sterns, of Ilene Ave.,
was home for his spring vacation from the Jewish Academy in
Chicago. Joseph Witz, of Louisville, Ky., was here with him as
his house guest.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Aaron Wolfe, formerly of Grosse Pointe, Mich.,
have taken up residence in Kew Gardens, Long Island, N. Y.
The Misses Shirley Arbit and Pauline Chaloff were recently
honored at a luncheon celebrating their forthcoming marriages.
Guests at the affair, given by Miss Ruth Krandall, included Louise
Frankel, Ethel Garber, Bella Hardstein,• Judy Krandall, Marilyn
Moscowitz, Judy Robins and Estelle Rosenberg.
Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Paysner, of Whitcomb Ave., Mr. and Mrs.
Irving Sniderman, of Washburn Ave., and Dr. and Mrs. Sam
Alpiner, of San Juan Dr., were recent guests at Oakton Manor
Resort, Lake Pewaukee, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Shevitz and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wilk are
among the Detroiters who last week left for visits in Israel. The
Shevitzes will visit with members of their family in Afikim.
The Wilks have joined the national tour of Israel .arranged by
the American Technion Society. •
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Barill were recently honored on their 25th
wedding anniversary with a surprise party given by their immedi-
ate family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Chase, of Leslie
Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert SpiWak (Charlotte Gould), of Richton
Ave., have motored to Miami Beach, Fla. for an extended vacation.

of its first year, the Young
Marrieds Group of Temple Israel
will present its first annual lay-
man's Sabbath eve service at
8:30 p.m., April 24, at the tem-
ple.
Participants in the service
will include Harvey Barnett,
Dr. Allan Marks, Donald Benyas,
Frank Simons, William Singer,
Sidney Dworkin, Ben Katzman
and Earl Hordes. Mrs. Heinz
Herz and Mrs. Jerome Oppen-
heim will bless the sabbath can-
dles. Mrs. Ellsworth Roston will
chant the kiddush.
A parallel sermon will be de-
livered 'by Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
Arfa. Ellsworth Roston will pre-
sent the presidental greetings.
Mrs. Louis Cassel is religious
chairman for the service, and
Mrs. Jack Wolrauch is in charge
of hospitality. Marvin Goldman
and Jerome Oppenheim are
chairmen of ushering.

In a ceremony last Wednes-
day, at the Sheraton Cadillac
Hotel, Paula Rose Clark, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark,
of Parkside Ave., was united in
marriage to Norman Baril, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Baril, of
Highland Ave. Rabbi Leon Frain
officiated.
The bride wore a gown of Ita-
lian.' silk taffeta, featured by a
sweetheart neckline, with tiny
seed pearls and heirloom lace
forming a collar. The gown ex-
tended into a formal train. Her
viel of silk illusion fell from an
Elizabethan crown of hand ap-
pliqued heirloom lace. She car-
ried orchids on her mother's
Bible.
Mrs. Sherwood Leitman, sister
of the bridegroom, was matron
of honor, and Diane Clark, the
bride's sister, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Nancy Men-
delsohn and Phyllis Clar.
Sherwood Leitman was his
brother-in-law's best man, and
ushers included Daniel Clark,
the bride's brother, Edward
Koblin and Robert Seigle.
The couple is now on a honey-
moon in Florida.

Social Inc., Plans Monthly Party
Social Inc. will hold its
