Arabs Protest Alleged
Sale of Refugee Land
UNITED NATIONS, (JTA) —
Six Arab states have filed a
joint protest with the United
Nations against the alleged sale
by Israel of private property of
Palestine Arab refugees:
In -a memorandum to Secre-
tary General Trygve Lie, Egypt,
Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Ara-
bia and Yemen charged that the
sales in the open market had
brought in millions of pounds
which were being used to fin-
ance the immigration and set-
tlement of Jewish refugees in
Israel.
The Arab prounouncement
asked intervention by the Pales-
tine Conciliation Commission to
halt the alleged sales, which are
termed violations of the institu-
tion of private property, of the
UN Charter and the truce agree-
ments.
