York City school teachers of the
Jewish faith will not lose pay
lor observing the Rosh Hash-
anah holidays next September,
the Board of Education decided.
This decision, affecting 8,000
teachers, supervisors and clerks,
is the first such in the history
of the Board.

Itch," the author, George Axel-
rod, doesn't want to start getting
paid until January 31, 1956, and
thereafter. That's the starting
line for the film version's re-
lease, and young Axelrod has
arranged for his 60 per cent au-
thor's share of the $225,000 pur-
chase price to be spread over
three years from that date.
