Rosenbergs Offered
Last Chance—To Talk
About USSR Espionage
Robert S. Allen, Washington
correspondent of the New York
Post, revealed last week that
them is an indication that
President Eisenhower would
commute the death sentences of
Ethel and Julius Rosenberg to
life imprisonment "if they will
reveal all they know about Rus-
sian espionage."
Mr. Allen points out that the
first such offer made by the
government was "rebuffed by
the Rosenbergs." He writes:
"Justice Department authorities
believe there is 'an outside
chance' their latest—and final—
proposal may be accepted."
