The dinner was complete French service, and the desert was a chafing dish delight from the heart of France: "Flaming 'cerise' in Brandy." The last vacation I was on took me into a quaint restaurant in a Southern French province; where I ordered the specialty of the house. I eagerly awaited the arrival of the wine soaked feast that I was sure would transform me into a world of ecstatic taste treats. I lifted the silver cover of my dish: A salami sandwich on rye.
