With Issues Affecting World. Peace

The meeting will feature a
discussion of "The World We
Live In," with Samuel H. RU-
biner as moderator. Mesdames
Morris T. Weingarten and I. I.
Lappin, chairman and co-chair-
man of American Affairs com-
mittee, with Mesdames Nathan
Spevakow and Philip Slomovitz,
have invited community leaders
to .interpret issues affecting
world peace.
Speakers include Dr. Joseph
Fauman, director of community
relations and research of the
Jewish Community Council; Al-
bert Elazar, assistant superin-
tendent of the United Hebrew
Schools; Mrs. A. Joseph Seltzer,
board member of the League of
Women Voters; Mrs. Max R.
Frank, regional vice-president of
Hadassah; Marguerite Kozenn
Chajes, concert artist who has
traveled throughout Europe and
Israel.
Mrs. Bernard Lachs, accom-
panied by Mrs. Leonard Hack,
will lead in community singing.
Mrs. Morris Liss is preparing
pictorial displays for the eve-
ning.
Usherettes will be Mesdames
Joseph Bachman, Alvin Berlin,
Henry Lehrman, Harvey Snider,
Albert Newman, Sam Solomon,
Jerome Trumper, and Miss Anita
Rossin. Mrs. Harry Baum, social
committee chairman, and Mrs.
Jacob Bernstein, co-chairmen,
are in charge of refreshments
which will be served at the social
hour following the program.

Central's Student Council has
been completely reorganized. A
representative from each study
hail was elected by the students
to represent each grade level.
Having six study halls, the Stu-
dent Council will consist of 24
members. The following were
elected: Margo Corby, Harriet
Chodoroff, Bruce Relyea, Phyllis
Bussel, Arnold Leshman, Phillip
Stone, Diane Yourofsky, Janet
Alberns, Leon Cohen, Shari
Stifter, Vicky Weinberger, Aud-
rey Saltzman, Bob Schecter,
Carol Rubin, Merna Cohen, Mi-
riam Glieberman, Maidra Gra-
noff, Ronald Horwitz, Jerome
Greenbaum, Marcia Nelson,
Judy Panush, and Bob Licht-
man.
A new club has been added in
'Central, the Photography Club
under the sponsorship of Birger
Bakke, assisted by Stuart Per-
nick, Central Student photogra-
pher. The program for the club
will include informal discus-
sions, print criticism, field trips.
The club will meet the ninth
hour in room 122, every first and
third Tuesday of each month.
Central's library has acquired
many records. The music is lis-
tened to with ear phones and
doesn't disturb any of the stu-
dents in the library.
Now that the seniors have de-
cided to go to Washington, pay-
ments for the trip will begin.
The first payment was due
March 4, the second March 25,
the third. April 15, the fourth
April -29.
Many scholarships are being
offered to seniors. A few of them
are: U of M Regents, Wayne,
Central Loan Association, Cen-
