LT. SOL GENENDLIS, a legal
prosecutor in criminal investiga-

WHEN JACK BNNY recently
rendered a compete symphonic
violin solo on his television
show, it probably astounded
many since the well-liked come-
dian has won thousands of
laughs with his burlesque ren-
ditions on the fiddle of the same
tune . . The fact is ; that he
rather fancies himself as a vio-
linist, and likes to be taken se-
riously when he renders an oc-
casional classical air for his
friends . . . The story goes about
a big party in Hollywood one
night when Benny, brought out
his fiddle, and put everything
he had into a piece. . . When he
finished, and the applause had
died down, Arthur Hornblow
called, "Give us 'Poet and Peas-
ant,' Jack" . "What!" ex-
claimed Benny, surprised and
flattered. "Again?"

SAD BUT TRUE, recently pub-
licized in c i d e n t s of Commie
racism have given rise to the
comment that "Hitler lost at
Stalingrad but conquered the
Kremlin." . which reminds us
that the columns of the Daily
Worker these days offer a splen-
did exercise in strained logic . .
In case you're convinced, as any
reasonable person would be, that
the red totalitarians are and
have been on the same path as
their Nazi predecessors, you will
be surprised to learn through
the heroic apologetics of the
Worker that you're wrong . . .
There is no anti-Semitism back
of the Iron Curtain . . . since it
has been outlawed by the Soviet
Union -and its phony People's
Democracies . • . and as the
clincher, the Worker grimly
points with a cynical twist to
persecution in West Germany
and in the U. S.

Just as he brought it into the
living room, however, the rab-
bit proceeded to give birth to
an enormous litter of baby rab-
bits . . . The boy watched in
consternation for a moment,
dropped the mother rabbit to
the ground, and cried, "Holy
smoke, the damn thing is fall-
ing apart!"

OVER 1500 PEOPLE saw Ele-
anor Riseman's 17th consecutive
Infant Service Group Show, last
Sunday evening . . and, as
usual, there wasn't a disappoint-
ed person in the entire audi-
ence . . . Called "Cotton Candy
Revue," the performance was
again an outstanding presenta-
tion . . and when you consider
the fact that the 20 girls who
sang and danced are the moth-
ers of about 50 children, the
thought is once again renewed
as to how in the world they can
do it . what with the many
rehearsals and some really fan-
cy stepping . . . But they do,
and this time . it was with a deep
feeling in their hearts for the
start of a building to assist in
the education of more than 20,-
000 mentally-retarded children
in Detroit . . as the new pro-
ject undertaken by a bunch of
gals who have sprung into an
ultra-bright organizational spot-
light for their magnificent work
in the field of helping needy
youngsters . . . The 12 husbands
who did their bit in the show are
also to be commended on their
fine performances . . . All in all,
as every year, we doff our hats
to a great women's organization
. . . the Infant Service Group.

it is truly 'amazing how the
