In a move designed to give
more time to the discussion of
individual problems, the Jewish,
Social Service Bureau will hold
its annual meeting this Sunday,
at the Davison Jewish Center,
separately from that of the Jew-
ish Welfare Federation.
The program will begin at
2 p.m., with Dr. Lawrence H.
Seltzer, president of JSSB, and
Judge Theodore Levin, president
of Resettlement Service, extend-
ing greetings to members and
the public, which is invited to
attend.
Election of JSSB and Resettle-
ment Service board members for
three year terms will be fol
lowed by a vote on two new by-

laws: 1. to provide for nomina-
tion by petition; and 2. to
change the words "Community
Fund" to United Foundation."
"Behind the Scenes," a drama
written by Mrs. Rachel Manela,
will be presented by Benjamin
Jaffe, David Rosirr, Dr. Myer
Teitelbaum, Mesdames Charles
Lakoff, J. Shurly Horwitz, Harry
August, Lewis Manning, lose
Buchhalter, Esther Levitsky,
Lena Eisler and Miss Rose Zes-
sar.
A question and answer period,
led by Harold Silver, executive
director of JSSB, will follow,
during which time the audience
will be able to ask questions.

Young Adult Council
Camps at Tamarack

A camping weekend is in store

Adult Council when the organi-
zation moves into Tamarack
Hills, Michigan, Jan. 30 through
Feb. 1. 4
Theme of the weekend will be
"The Role of the Jewish Young
Adult in Today's Society." Work-
shops featuring prominent
speakers will discuss the role of
the various young adult organi-
zations in the community. A fi-
nal session will deal with the
role of the Council and these
groups.
An oneg shabbat on Friday
evening will feature community
singing, Israeli dancing, and a
dramatic presentation. Dancing
and a movie will highlight ac-
tivities Saturday night. Tobog-
ganing, ice skating and other
winter, sports will be offered in
the daytime.
Cost for the weekend will be
approximately $11, and each or-
ganization will be limited to two
representatives. Chairman of the
week-end committee is Willie
Shanfield of the Young Zionist
Club. Other committee members
include Harriet Wolrauch,
Young People's Society; Larry
Pernick, Mu Beta Chi fraternity;
Sol Wildstrom, Young Zionist
Club; Estelle Pikulin and Betty
Ommerman, Junior Hadassah;
and Edna Bernstein, IZFA. For

Maj. Victor Avrunin
To Address Detroit
Technion on Tuesday

Maj. Victor Avrunin, native
Detroiter, who served with the
Israel army and has played an
important role in Israel's- eco-
nomic functions in the capacity
of an engineering consultant;
will address the Detroit Tedh-
rtion Society, Tuesday evening,
at the Zionist House, Linwood
and Lawrence.
At present, Maj. Avrunin Is
engineering :consultant of the
Jewish Agency in New York. He
is a University of Michigan
graduate.
Benjamin Wilk, president of
the Detroit Technion Society,
extends an invitation to all who
are interested to hear Maj. Av-
runin's address.
