CRAEMER'S BARN

An outstanding program in
honor of one of the community's
most outstanding women leaders
was given last Wednesday, in
the Sheraton Cadillac Hotel in
tribute to Mrs. Charles Gitlin.
The testimonial dinner was
tendered by the Maimonides
Medical Society and its Women's
Auxiliary. George Stark and
Anne Campbell were the prin-
cipal spealters. •
Among the many tributes ex-
tended to Mrs. Gitlin was a
statement calling attention to
her role in aiding the cause of
a .Jewish Hospital in Detroit. In
1937, while she was also serving
as president of the -Maimonides
Auxiliary, Mrs. Gitlin founded
the Mt. Sinai Hospital Associa-..
tion. •
In 1950 the group was inte-
grated with. the Jewish Hospital
Association, and turned over all
assets and property to the hos-
opital group. Its charter likewise
was turned over to the JHA,
which has now become known
as Sinai Hospital. •
