The annual winter camp of
Hashomer Hatzair; Zionist youth
movement of Detroit, will be
held at Lane Lodge, Kensington.
Park, from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2.
The program will include all
winter sports such as ice skat-
ing, tobogganing, sledding and
dances, games, indoor fireplace
roasts, Hebrew study—in a rich
Jewish atmosphere.
The theme of the camp will
center around the idea of
"Courage" as exemplified in

various periods of Jewish his-
tory.
Youth of 12 to 18 years of age
may register by calling Mr.

Alizrachi Groups Form Israel Merger

TEL AVIV, (JTA)—Agreement
on the merger of the Mizrachi
and Labor Mizrachi organiza-
tions in Israel into one body
has been reached at a two-day
conference here of representa-
tives of both parties. The agree-
ment will now go to the central
committees of both groups for
ratification and will be brought
for final action to a joint con-
ference of both groups imme-
diately after next Passover.
The agreement provides that
both groups will become depart-
ments' of a Mizrachi world - cen-
tral committee with headquar-
ters in Jerusalem, which will
also publish the newspaper Hat-
zofeh as the organ of both par-
ties. In addition, the two will
submit joint lists in all elections
for Zionist congresses, Parlia-
ment, the municipal elections

and other political contests.
Leaders of the parties, who par-
ticipated in the merger discus-
sions, stressed that the amal-
gamation must be complete in
order to more effectively deal
with fundamental r e l i g i o us
problems in Israel and else-
where.

Speakers Club to Debate
Role of Religion in Israel

Speaker's Club will discuss the
separation of religion and gov-
ernment in a program at 9 p.m.,
Saturday, at the Davison Jewish
Center. The topic will be "Re-
ligion--a Part of or Apart from
the State of Israel." "Your For-
mula for Happiness" will be a
second topic. Guests are invited.
