Shochtim Strike in London LONDON, (JTA) — Thousands of Jewish homes in London went without kosher meat as a result of a strike of shochtim on a question of 'working hours. The slaughterers want to start work at 9 a.m. daily and the Council insists on a starting hour of 7:30 a.m. The officers, directors and faculty of the Beth Yehudah Schools this week congratulated Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Borman of Oakman Boulevard upon the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Leonard. The Bor- mans are credited with a unique way to mark their son's coming of age in the religious community. Leonard, a student at the Beth Yehudah Day School on Dexter and Cortland, will observe his Bar Mitzvah this Saturday, at Shaarey Zedek, and on that occasion his parents will contribute a sum ap- proximating the total of the week's payroll for instructors of the Yeshivah.
