Seek 2.500 Volunteers for Israel
Bond Day Solicitation on Dec. 14

"Bring me 2500 volunteers and
we'll sell three times as many
bonds as we did last year in
Detroit!" said Melvin Dubinsky,
national "BIG Day" chairman,
in a talk at a joint dinner meet-
ing of the board of governors
and Council of. Organizations of
the Detroit Committee for State
of Israel Bonds.
After a warm introduction by
Louis B e r r y, Mr. Dubinsky
brought the interested group up
to date on the national picture
of the Bond drive: $150 millions
in Bonds already sold, with
425,000 people making purchases
within the first 16 months of
the bond issue.
Asking Detroit organizations
to combine their forces and pro-
duce a bond sales army of at
least 2,500 strong, the national
"BIG Day" chairman promised
a national sales figure of from
$15 to $20 million on Dec. 14
("BIG Day") alone.
Sidney S h e v i t z, Detroit's

pledged that every ounce of ef-
fort would be utilized in the
local community for the Bond

At the second annual insti-
tute of the Women's Division of
the Detroit • Israel Bond Com-
mittee, 300 women charted a
three-way course to greater
bond sales Nov. -20, at Adas
Shalom.
The Institute took the form
Of three panel sessions :
(1) Cash Collections, with
Mrs. H. J. Millman as chairman;
guest speaker, Mrs.,Alexander
Sanders; collections skit por-
trayed by Mesdames Samuel
Croll, Robert Greenberg, and
Donald Schiller;
(2) Organizations and Speak-
ers, chaired by Mrs. Joseph New-
man, substituting for the ailing
Mrs. Lillian Grahm; Edward G.
Robinson's speech was read by
Mrs. Milford Pregerson. Mrs.
Irving Lipson conferred degrees
upon Mrs. Shaye Foreman, Jew-
ish Congress; Mrs. David Gros-
berg, Bnai Brith; Mrs. Morris
Wayne, Hadassah; Mrs. Alex
Schreier, Pioneer Women; Mrs.
Rose Singer, Mizrachi;* Mrs.
Norman Brode, Infants Service
Group; Mrs. Jules Kraft, Jewish
National Fund.
