Impressive Ceremonies Mark
Dedication of U. of M. Hillel
An impressive gathering of dis-
tinguished national leaders, to-
gether with Bnai Brith and
other leaders from the entire
state, participated in the dedi-
cation of the University of Mich-
igan Hillel Foundation building,
at 1429 Hill St., Ann Arbor, last
Sunday afternoon.
Hundreds of people toured
the attractive U-shaped mod-
ern structure and attended
the two-hour program which
officially marked the opening
of the building. The building,
one of the most beautiful on
the campus, houses a lounge,
music room, large and auxili-
ary chapels, two large recrea-
tion rooms, an arts and crafts
room, a photography lab, Sun-
- day School and study rooms
and administrative offices.
Beth Israel Community Cen-

Foundation.
At the dedication ceremonies,
Osias Zwerdling, president of the
Michigan Bnai Brith Hillel
Foundation and of the Beth
Israel Center, who was honored
by many speakers for his. devo-
tion to Jewish causes which has
kept alive the Hillel Foundation

expressed pride in the fact that
Sc, children attend the center's
Sunday School and that many
children also attend Hebrew
classes there.
Mr. Zwerdling- stated that
Ypsilanti Jewry and Jews in
smaller communities in Wash-
tenaw County shared respon-
sibility for the classes and
activities conducted in the
new Hillel Center.
Appeals were made by Mr.
Zwerdling, Rabbi Herschel Ly-
mon, director of the U. of M.
Foundation, Louis H. Scho-
