$100,000 for Bnai Brith's many
philanthropies.
To bring the drive, largest in
the history of the local organi-
zation, to an end, a huge all-
star revue will be held at 8:30
p.m., in the auditorium of Ma-
sonic Temple.
Heading the list of enter-
tainers is Danny Thomas, radio,
screen and television star, who
will present scenes from his
latest movie, "The Jazz Singer."
Other headliners will be Sher-
man Hayes and his orchestra,
Stan Fischer, protege of Milton
Berle, the Tip-Top Dancers and
the Crosby Sisters.
All 18 women's chapters here
representing some 6,000 women,
have aided the campaign fund-
raising. Mrs. Samuel Gutter-
man, president of the Women's
Council, has stated that "with
all this help we can't miss go-
ing over the top."

calling Mrs. Henry Onrich, UN.

Adas Shalom Women
Planning Luncheon;
Oneg Shabbat Saturday

Mrs. Charles Charlip, vice-
president of Adas Shalom Sister-
hood, announces that a paid-up
membership luncheon will take
place at 12:30 p.m., Monday, in
the synagogue social hall.
Luncheon arrangements ara
directed by Mrs. Herman Littky.
A candle-light ceremony will
be held commemorating the 8th
3ea.,i of the Sisterhood.
A free membership to the Sis-
terhood for one year will be
given to new brides, children of
members of the Congregation
and Sisterhood:
Mrs. Harry Nachman, program
chairman, announces that a
musical-playlet entitled, " I Re-
member When," written and
directed by Mrs. Joseph Markle,
will be presented. It tells of the
role of women in the Sisterhood,
synagogue and community. The
following women will partici-
pate:

Mesdames Jack Axelrod, Louis Beresh,
Zangwell Garber, Morris Gobel, Barney
Golden, J. C. Goldman, Charles Heiman,
Harry Kaufman, Sol Kling, Jacob Levine,
Harry Levine, Max Littky, Maurice Raz-
rick, D. Schiff, Aaron Schuldinger, Honi
Shapiro, Sol Slomovitz and Milton Win-
nton.

Lillian Robbins Zellthan will
be the accompanist. English,
Hebrew, and Yiddish songs will
be sung.
The first oneg shabbat of the
season will be held at 2 p.m.,
Saturday, at the home of Mrs.
Jack Klein, 18295 Santa Barbara
Drive, announced Mrs. Dan
Shapiro, oneg shabbat chairman.
Mrs. Jacob E. Segal will give
the opening prayer, and Mrs.
Joe Katchke will review current
Jewish events. The closing pray-
er will be given by Mrs. Joseph
Markel. There will be singing led
by members of the Choral group.
The Sisterhood dramatic
group will re-enact a script from
an Eternal Light radio program
called, "How Uriel Got into
Heaven," written by Morton
Wishengrad. The following
members will appear: Alice Ross,
Muriel Sherbow, Rose Bassin,
Ruth Weinbaum, Betty Cohen,
Gertrude Armstrong, Jean Raz-
nick, Ann Gould, Lillian Wein-

baum and. Ann Shapiro.

BETH AARON MEN'S CLUB
will present Dr. Murray Banks,
former professor of psychology
at Long Island University, in a
humorous program, "What to Do
Until the Psychiatrist Comes,"
on Monday evening, at the syn-
agogue. Dr. Banks is currently
writing a syndicated national
column, and is the author of the
book, "How to Live with Your-
self." Friends are welcome.

OAK WOODS LODGE, Bnai
Brith, will hold its first annual
Barn Frolic Sunday evening, at
Van's Barn, on W. 8 Mile Rd. A

will discuss important develop-
ments in Bnai Brith.

will hold its annual inter-faith
night Monday evening, at the
synagogue. Rev. Phillip W.
Sarles, Minister of neighboring
Mayflower Congregational
Church, will be guest speaker.
Members of the Mayflower
Men's Club will also participate
in the program. A musical pre-
sentation will be given under
the direction of Cantor Nicho-
las Fenakel. A special feature
of the program will be the pre-
sentation of certificates of serv-
ice to past president of Adas
Shalom's Men's Club from the
National Federation of Jewish
Men's Clubs. A social hour will
follow.

TEMPLE ISRAEL'S MEN'S
CLUB will sponsor its annual
harvest dance on Nov. 22. Jim
Schultheis and his band will
provide the music. Sol I. Stein
and Sol Babbush, co-chairmen,
announce that members and
their wives are invited to this
first program in a series of
three events.

Louis Marshall Anniversary

Louis Marshall Chapter, Bnai
Brith, celebrated its 10th an-
niversary earlier this week at
a program called to honor all
10 year members of the group.
A special skit was presented.

of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Ver-

nick, of London Ave., was solem-
nized Nov. 1, at the Sheraton
Cadillac Hotel. Rabbi Minard
Klein officiated.
The bride's gown was of chan-
tilly lace over white satin. It
featured traditionally long,
fitted sleeves. The slim bodice
was fashioned with a deeply-
rounded decolletage and a yoke
of illusion.
Her tiered illusion veil was
held in place by a lace princess
cap, edged with tiny pearls. She
carried a prayer book with white
orchids and stephanotis.
Ruth Carpel, of Cleveland, 0.,
was maid of honor. Stanford
Levin, brother of the bride, was
best man. Ushers included
Franklin Adell and Aaron Gal-
perin. Following a honeymoon
in Miami, the couple will reside
on Schaefer Rd.

place, and she carried orchids
on a Bible.
Miss Audrey Borden was maid
of honor, and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Myron Bakst, Stella Allen
and Irene Gruskin. Harriet Kay
was flower girl. William Good-
man was best man, with Milton
Wisotsky, Morris Mandell and
Morris Bogow serving as ushers.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion, the young couple left on a
honeymoon to Oakton Manor
Resort in Wisconsin.
