Farband Launches
Federated Campaign
With Labor Zionists
LEO POLK, (right) Detroit's 'Human Blood Bank," will be
honored, today, by receiving an award from Governor G. MENNEN
WILLIAMS for his "outstanding patriotic service" in being the
leading blood donor in the United States. He is the first man in
the country to give 10 gallons of blood since Pearl Harbor. On the

New Jersey Woman Seeks
Information on Relatives
Mrs. George Finkelstein, of
338 N. 4th Ave., N. J., writes to
The Jewish News to seek infor-
mation on relatives she is seek-
ing in Detroit.
Mrs. Finkelstein, who will. be
here Oct. 26 to 29 as a delegate
to the national convention of
Hadassah, writes that she is
seeking the children of her
uncle, whom she believes is now
dead.
The uncle's name was Louis
Miller, changed from Zupritzki.
He immigrated to Detroit 40
years ago from Augustow, Po-
land. He was thought to have
ten children, three bearing the
names David, Abe and Anne.

Michigan Aeronautics Com-
mission will hold a public
hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Fri-
day, November 7, 1952, in the
House of Representatives
Chamber s, State Capital
Building, Lansing, Michigan,
to determine the convenience
and aeronautical necessity for
the establishment of a major
airport by the City of Detroit
in Warren Township, Macomb
County.
Any persons wishing to tes-
tify at this hearing shall so
notify Lester J. Maitland, Di-
rector, Michigan Department
of Aeronautics, Capital City
Airport, Lansing, Michigan,
stating length of time their
testimony will require. All
persons signifying their de-
sire to testify may submit
briefs in advance of the hear-
ing and it is requested that
four (4) copies of all evidence
to be presented be given to
the Michigan Aeronautics
Commission at the time of
the hearing.

Post of the American Legion. He

Detroit Section of Council
To Observe 59th Birthday
The Detroit Section, National
Council of Jewish Women, will
join with sections in 244 com-
munities in the country on Sat-
urday in celebrating the organ-
ization's 59th birthday. Founded
in 1893, it now has 96,000 mem-
bers.
Mrs. Emil Rothman, president
of the Detroit section, stated
that the original aims of the
Council "to serve faith and hu-
manity" are still behind the
group's work in community serv-
ice and education programs.
Workmen's Circle Chorus
To Hold Social Saturday
A social will be given by the
Workmen's Circle Chorus, on
Saturday. The program will in-
clude community singing, led by
director Dan Frohman. The so-
cial will be held at the Work-
men's Circle Center, 11529 Lin-
wood, at 9 p.m. The public is
welcome.
Parking Meters in Haifa
The first parking meters in
are being installed in
Haifa, which also pioneered in
Israel
At a meeting of members of
the Farband in dedication to the
opening of its school, the annual
Federated Campaign was
launched. Chairman of the pro-
gram was Ben Harold. Dr. Jos-
hua Rabinowitz, principal of the
Toronto Jewish Folk Schools
was guest speaker.
In announcing the drive for
$25,000, David Sislin stated that
the campaign would extend
through Nov. 15. Officers and
leaders of all Farband branches
and Poale Zion received pledge
cards for each member, as the
drive's official start.
Ben Harold will represent Far-
band and Norman Naimark, the
Labor Zionist Organization, as
divisional chairmen of the cam-
paign, which is being organized
for the fifth year.
A special breakfast meeting
will be held this Sunday morn-
ing at the home of Morris Scha-
ver, special gifts chairman. The
first report meeting is scheduled
for Oct 26, at the Labor Zionist
Institute, when Dr. Berl Frymer,
director of LZOA, will be guest
speaker.
Dr. Frymer will bid goodbye
to members of LZOA at this
time. He leaves shortly to as-
sume a new post in Israel.

New Kvutzah Officers
At its recent annual election
meeting, Kvutzah Ivrith, Hebrew
Cultural Group, elected the fol-
lowing officers:

most outstanding teachers, Max

Club to Hear Judge Murphy
