TEL AVIV, (AJP)—Israeli of-
ficials here have expressed con-
cern over the coup d'etat per-
petrated last week in Lebanon.
Prime figure in the new gov-
ernment is Camille Chamoun,
who was elected President of
the country following a bloodless
overthrow of the government of
Bechara el Khoury.
The 52-year-old Lebanese is a
Christian, but was a leading
proponent of the Arab nation's
war against Israel. Cham-oun was
a supporter of the regime he
overthrew until three years ago
when he resigned at the 'thought
of its becoming a corrupt dic-
tatorship.
He is best known to the West-
ern • world for his accomplish-
ments in the United Nations. He
was the author of a UN motion
tc translate into all languages
the classic works of each coun-
try. His idea was squelched by
Russia's objections
