On a visit to a synagogue in
Rangoon, Berger stumbled onto

erties. On coining to the syna-
gogue, a Jap general questioned
the sexton as to what was in-

try, which. he says has been
given a terrific boost by the
sale of state of Israel bonds.,
"It's almost unbelievable,"
Berger reports. "I retrace my
steps of three years ago. Where
there was a barren field, a fac-
tory now stands. And where
there was a shed called a fac-
tory, which employed a hand-

a string of buildings with a pay
