Four generations of Lewis'
watched the NBC "Comedy
Hour," which starred Dean Mar-
tin and Jerry Lewis. Jerry's
grandfather, Moishe, who lives
in Brooklyn and is 80 years old,
watched the show from the east
while it was being kinied in
Hollywood. When west coasters
viewed the show, later in the
night, Jerry saw it with his
father Danny Lewis, also a com-
edian and who was on the tele-
vision show, and his sons Ronnie
and Gary. Jerry and Dean will
be back in front of the TV cam-

A Sophie Tucker Story
Sophie Tucker swears it actu-
ally happened to her: She was
seated side by side with a very
small boy in a temple in Miami
Beach. As the collection plate
was being passed the little boy
noticed that Sophie seemed to be
fumbling fruitlessly in her parse.
Leaning toward her he wisper-
ed: "Here, lady, you take my
dime. I can hide under the seat,"

Press Points to Anti-Semitism
JOHANNESBURG, (JTA) — As
the bitterness between the Na-
tionalist government of South
Africa and the opposition in-
creases in the current constitu-
tional crisis, "anti - Semitism
bubbles up all over the Nation-
alist" benches in Parliament.
It is pointed out in the press
that in the four years of Na-
tionalist rule of the Union there
has never-been such an outburst
of anti-Semitism as at present.
One correspondent wrote that
"phrases like the 'Jewish danger'
can be heard floating up to the
public galleries" from the depu-
ties' seats.
