Plan Fund-Raising Drive

A meeting of the steering com-

Bnai Brith Women's Council will

Detroit's 4000 police officers
again invited all the children of
the city to their annual picnic
to be held at Jefferson Beach,
Saturday, Aug. 30.
All children under 16 will be
admitted free to the grounds
from 9 a.m. through the day,
and the Detroit Police Officers
Association, sponsors of the pic-
nic, will provide comic books and
crackerjacks in abundance. Chil-
dren and adults will be guests
of the Police for all rides be-
tween 1 and 6 p.m.
All police officers have tickets
for the picnic and the charge
for those over 16 years old is $1.

The 1952 Michigan State
Fair, to be held in Detroit Aug.
29 through Sept. 7, will again
feature an exhibition of Michi-
gan artists, daily from 10 a.m. to
10 p.m., in the Coliseum. A
special gallery is being con-
structed. There will be no ad-
mission charge.
Rules of the exhibition re-
quire that each exhibitor must
have been a recipient of an
award at a regional exhibition
in Michigan during 1951-52. One
entry is allowed from each ar-
tist. Prizes will total $500.
