For countless centuries our
people have eaten "the meat of
lambs." This tasty meat dish
dates back to Biblical times, in
fact. But there have arisen
many variations of this time-
honored "meiehel," depending
; on the influences of environ-
ment, ingenuity of the kitchen
engineer, family culinary cus-
toms and demands. Here is a
recipe for one variation which
always makes a hit. It can be
served hot from the oven or 1
sliced cold the following day, as
for Sabbath meals. For a
change from the customary
chicken meal, try the following:

On ethereal wings,
There cometh the dawn

And faintly it breathes on my
latticed domain:
"Nay, never disseven this
gassomer skein!"
Tarry my soul for a while,
for a while.
Sweet sleep shall be thine:
Again and again.

Berger,
Documents, hitherto- unknown,
point to the • te of Jews
in what is now Yugoslavia long
before the fall of the Roman
Empire, over 2,000 years ago.
Officials of the Federation of
Jewish Communities in Yugo-
slavia, now engaged in a history
of Yugoslav Jewry, made the dis-
coveries. The report also indicat-
ed that at present there are
6,600 Jews in Yugoslavia, and
that 7,664 have emigrated to
Israel since the creation of the
Jewish state.
A lot of people who clamor for
equal rights really mean they
are eager to get a living without
work.
