Lt. Mvrom Mishkin
Wins Bronze Star

Mr. and Mrs. Max Dushkin,
of 14414 Vassar, have been in-
formed by the War Department
that their son. Lt. Myron' Dush-
kin, is the recipient of the
Bronze Star.
Following a year and a half
of fighting in Korea where he
also won the Silver Star, Purple
Heart and other citations, the
new medal was earned for his
training of a unit of Puerto
Rican troops in tank warfare.
The citation reads in part:
"As executive officer of Tank
Company 65th Infantry Regi-
ment this officer was responsi-
ble for converting the unit from
trained continental troops to
Puerto Rican troops. Working
with men who had never seen
a tank . . . and who spoke a
different language, this officer
trained these men with such a
degree of proficiency that the
combat efficiency of the com-
pany remained at its usual high
standard.
"Lt. Dushkin's outstanding
professional skill, leadership and
untiring devotion to duty reflect
great credit upon himself and
the military service."
The former Detroiter now lives
at 9171 Alcott St., Los Angeles.
