among a group of American tourists who attended the BIG lunch-
eon club in Jerusalem where they met leading agricultural, in-
dustrial and public leaders of the new state. The luncheon, spon-
sored by the $500,000,000 Israel bond' drive, gives American tour-
ists an opportunity to discuss problems of the country's develop-
ment with official government representatives.
Dr. and Mrs. Ted Winshall and son, Walter, formerly of Pen-
nington Dr., have moved to their new residence at 17210 James
Couzens.
Dr. Warren E. Sheldon, formerly located at 17300 Schaefer,
has moved to his qwn offices at 14215 McNichols. He is on the
staff of Children's Hospital.
Mrs. Abe Gordon, of Waverly Ave., is spending 10 days in
Sioux City, Ia., visiting with her children, Rabbi and Mrs. Albert,
A. Gordon and family.
David Minus is spending the Summer season at Lesser's Clover
Lodge where he is playing nightly in the resort's dance band.
The American Jewish Tercentenary Committee of 300, which
is planning the celebration in 1954 of the 300th anniversary of the
settlement of Jews in the United States, includes the following
from Michigan: Prof. William Haber, Ann Arbor,.Mich.: Judge
Theodore Levin, Philip Slomovitz and Isidore Sabeloff of Detroit.
Dr. and Mrs. Leo Orecklin left on a five weeks' trip to Euro-
pean countries. Dr. Orecklin will attend a medical convention
in London.
Herbert Furman, of Leslie Ave., a recent graduate of the Uni-
versity of Michigan law school with a Jurist Doctor degree, has
been elected by the faculty to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Furman
is now associated with the Patent Office of the General Motors
Corp. in Washington, D. C.
