Yugoslavia Imports Citrus
Fruit Products from Israel

Although Yugoslavia is consid-
ered one of Europe's major de-
ciduous fruit producers, the
country in 1950 imported almost
3,500 quintals of citrus fruits
from Israel, despite its almost
total prohibition of imported
consumer goods.
The Yugoslays today are still
having troubles with its citrus
industry, although assistance has
beep forthcoming from the
United Nations. It is estimated
that the average Yugoslav con-
sumption is about one slice of
a medium sized orange per per-
son per year.
