Rabbi Klein Assumes

Northwest Israel. Synagogue Center
Begins Construction of New Building

The Northwest Israel Syna-
gogue and Center organization,
traditional Northwest orthodox
group. has begun construction of
its synagogue and center build-
ing at 17376 Wyoming. between
Santa Maria and Santa Clara.
Norman Sukenic, chairman of
the building committee, an-
nounces that the building will
be completed in time for the
High Holy Days in September.
Mr. Sukcnic is assisted in the
building construction program
by Milton Duchan, co-chairman,
Gilbert Averbuch, Sam Sukenic
and Arthur Klein. The group
now holds regular Sabbath ser-
vices at the Bagley School Audi-
torium, Curtis and Greenlawn.

The purpose of the group is to
establish a traditional orthodox
synagogue and center for youth
and adult activities in the north-
west area. The building under
construction, in addition to a
combination synagogue and aud-
itorium. will have facilities for
club rooms and Saturday after-
noon story hour groups for
youngsters.
