radiation and biology. including
cancer research. The British
government made only a token
charge for the consignment.

Women's European Welfare Organization was presented with a
certificate signifying that the Detroit women had redeemed a
Nachlah at Mahasey in Israel, near the Jordan border. through

Temple Israel also has de-

special weekday classes in

last spring. proved so popular
with both children and par-
ents, that it was decided to

These sessions. which gave
each pupil an extra weekday
hour of Hebrew instruction,
are held in the Temple build-
ing at Manderson and Mer-
ton. The instructor is David
Gottlieb.
Sabbath Eve services at

out the summer. every Friday
night at 8:30.

Yeshivath Beth Yehudah Day
Camp. now in its sixth year, is
almost filled to capacity with
12.5 children. 4-15.
A feature this year is a pro-
gram of overnight hikes planned
for week-ends during the camp
period. David Gottlieb of the
sociology department of Wayne
University is supervising the
week-end activities as well as
an every day program of arts
and crafts.
Rabbi S. Goldstein, camp di-
rector, states that the camp's
equipment is sufficient to supply
the need of 500 children. Beth
Yehudah Day Camp is the first
camp in the city that had ex-
clusive swimming facilities in a
Detroit pool. Tappan Intermedi-
ats Pool is available for the
Yeshivath Day Camp every day.
4-5 p.m.
After a full day's activities, in-
cluding a study period. lunch
and a rounded sports program in
one of the parks and a swim
highlight the camp program.

At Yeshivath Beth Yehudah
commencement exercises, three
students received high school
diplomas, among 37 graduates
honored. They were Sol Blumen-
feld. son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Blumenfeld, Max Dubin, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Dubin, and
Arthur Greenfield, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Eugene Greenfield.
The June 19 graduation brings
the total number of students
who completed the 12 grades at
Beth Yehudah Day School, in
the eight years of its existence,
to 15. Of these, 11 are pursu-
ing a regular program of uni-
versity studies at Wayne in the
evening and at the same tune
aontinuing advanced Hebrew
learning at the Beth Hamidrash
of Yeshivath Beth Yehudah.
Two of the 15 have proceeded to
Yeshivoth out of town and two
have taken up business careers.
The graduation department of.
Yeshiveth Beth Yehudah con-
tinues its sessions through the
months of June and July, as
well as morning Hebrew classes
on the elementary and high
school level. The afternoons are
devoted to recreational activi-
ties under the program of the
Beth Yehudah Day Camp.
