Council, New York Public Affairs Office, U. S. State Department.
Violet Messer, regional vice-president, and Anne Epstein, new-
]y-elected president, attended Junior Hadassah's annual spring
conference in Cleveland.
The music department of the Jewish Center will present a
piano and violin recital by pupils of Betty Kowalsky. . Reva Kowal-
sky and Jerome Stasson on Sunday, 3:30 at the Woodward
Center. The public is invited.
Mrs. Esther Kopel, 1561 Cortland, returned recently from a
six-month visit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Mrs. Miriam Davidson and her sons, Allan and Ernest, ar-
rived recently from England for an indefinite visit, and are stay-
ing with Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Miller, 18287 Ilene.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Shapiro have returned from a vacation
in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Jay Rosenshine, of Oakman Blvd., have returned,
from a trip to Israel. They also visited eight European countries.
While in Oslo, Norway, they visited their children, Dr. and Mrs.
Maynard Cohen.
Ruth Meckler, 14 year old pianist pupil of Edward Bredshall,
recent winner of the Gwladis Luloff Memorial Scholarship, will
study this summer with Seymour Lipkin at the Indian Hill Work-
shop in the Berkshires. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Meckler of 16135 Baylis.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Schneider and children of Roselawn Ave.,
are touring for a month's" stay in California.
Mrs. Philip J. Cutler entertained the board of directors of
the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Jewish National Fund at her summer
home in Port Huron on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Gottloeb of Warrington Drive have returned
from a nine weeks' tour of Europe. Their trip included France.
Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and the French and Italian
Rivieras.
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Fenster celebrated their 25th wedding an-
niversary on June 12 and were honored with a surprise party by
their children.
