Ilan University committee, received a special citation for his work
on behalf of the American Mizrachi-sponsored university in Israel
in a ceremony at the golden jubilee dinner of Mizrachi in New

dinner in honor of Judge George
Edwards, in recognition of his
work at the Wayne County
Juvenile Home.

Ruth Gruber, the foreign cor-
respondent. on a recent trip to
Israel. came across some amus-
ing signs put up by Israelites
who had not yet acquired a firm
grasp on the English language.
One emdee in Haifa, for in-
stance, had this sign in front of
his home--"Specialist in Women
and Other Diseases,"

Two Jewish athletes are among
the men singled out for athletic
awards at Wayne University this
spring.
David Rosensweig of 2542 Bos-
ton and Edward Silberstein of
2968 Cortland, won major letters,
it was announced by the univer-
sity athletic advisory board.
Rosensweig won his award as a
member of the Tartar golf team,
while Silberstein was a- pitcher
on the Wayne baseball squad.
Competing for the first year
on the Tartar golf squad. Rosen-
sweig played at the number four
or five spot. He helped the
Wayne team compile a record
12 wins and but four defeats.
the best in Tartar history. He
is a graduate of Central High
School.
Silberstein's best pitching ef-
fort was•a four hit, 4 to 2 victory
over Hillsdale College. A junior
in the college of education, he is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Silberstein. He attended Cass
